At 300 calories and 18 grams of protein, the Egg McMuffin makes for a smart way to get your mornings started. It gets its protein from its freshly-cracked egg and Canadian bacon slice. Then, these protein-packed ingredients are combined with American cheese and an English muffin to deliver its signature flavor.

“Not only do I eat guilt-free at McDonald's, I think they get a bad rap all too often. When I’m flying in the morning, I typically get an Egg McMuffin and a coffee. The sandwich only has 300 calories and it offers 18 grams of satiety-providing protein," Christine M. Palumbo, MBA, RDN, FAND says.
To make the sandwich even healthier, you can order it without the Canadian bacon and cheese. This healthy hack will save you about 70 calories and 400 milligrams of sodium.
Palumbo also suggest sticking with the whole egg instead of the egg whites, as the yolk contains vitamins and minerals that could help with your weight loss. "Instead of the egg white version, I stick with the whole egg sandwich because the yolk contains carotenoids, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals," she continues.
Wow, who knew that the Egg McMuffin could be a good weight loss breakfast option? We'll definitely keep these healthy hacks in mind when ordering this sandwich for breakfast.
