McDonald's Customers Are Outraged And Threatening To Boycott After Being Served A 'Flatter Than A Pancake' Burger Amid Shrinkflation Claims

Fast food customers are growing increasingly frustrated with what they see as shrinking portion sizes paired with rising prices. The phenomenon, known as “shrinkflation,” has become a hot topic, as more and more people take to social media to vent about paying more for less. As if that weren’t enough, many chains have also introduced extra charges for things like paper bags, adding fuel to the fire. McDonald’s, one of the biggest names in fast food, has come under fire for both issues, with recent complaints highlighting just how much these changes are impacting the dining experience.

One Reddit user, pineappleeeehla, recently shared their disappointment in the shrinkflation subreddit, posting a photo of an exceptionally thin cheeseburger they were served at McDonald’s. Captioning the image, “This is horrible $2.29 thanks,” the burger appears shockingly flat, sparking a flurry of comments from fellow fast food lovers who couldn’t believe how bad the meal looked.

Reddit Reacts: ‘Flatter Than A Pancake’

The post quickly gained traction, with many users chiming in to express their outrage and amusement over the deflated burger. One commenter quipped, “I hope you never go back,” reflecting the growing dissatisfaction with McDonald’s meals. Others took a more humorous approach, with one user saying, “the way it’s literally flatter than a pancake,” and another adding, “It’s a meat crepe.” The image of the sad, skinny cheeseburger seemed to strike a chord with many, who have been feeling the sting of paying more while receiving less in return.

Beyond the jokes, however, was a real sense of frustration. Several users pointed out that it wasn’t just about the size, but the overall quality of fast food that seems to have taken a nosedive in recent years. One commenter lamented that "McDonald's is one of the only places you go in hungry and come out feeling hungrier," highlighting how shrinkflation is making fast food less satisfying than ever. With rising prices across the board, customers are finding it harder to justify paying for meals that leave them wanting more—not in a good way.

This incident has sparked a broader conversation about what fast food customers are willing to accept as prices increase. Many are calling for more transparency from companies like McDonald's, urging them to either bring back the portion sizes customers expect or adjust their prices accordingly. Ultimately, it may be best to fry up our own burgers at home.
