Although Taylor Swift may have just gone viral for enjoying her chicken tenders with “ketchup and seemingly ranch,” McDonald’s is about to give these condiments a run for their money by adding two brand-new sauces to their menu: Mambo Sauce and Sweet & Spicy Jam.
That’s right: the new McDonald’s items just keep on coming. In addition to the Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Creme Pie, customers will soon be able to enjoy their McNuggets with Mambo Sauce and their favorite breakfast sandwich with Sweet & Spicy Jam (but hopefully not all at the same time). Who says you have to be satisfied with all the usual sauces? If honey mustard just isn't doing it for you anymore and barbecue has lost its shine, we're happy to share that you'll have two new sauces to try at McDonald's next month. (And soon, you'll even be able to dip Spicy McNuggets in them!)
Okay, so what exactly are Mambo Sauce and Sweet & Spicy Jam? If you're from the Washington D.C. area, you may already know a thing or two about Mambo sauce—but you probably know it as "mumbo" sauce. This regional favorite is a tomato-based sauce that's a little bit vinegary, a little bit spicy, and a little bit sweet. You can think of it as a mix between sweet and sour sauce and BBQ. In short, it's perfect for nugget dipping!

Sweet & Spicy Jam, on the other hand, is McDonald's first ever breakfast-specific sauce. How innovative! This is a red pepper sauce that features cayenne (which is metabolism-boosting, btw) and Szechuan peppers—so maybe it'll fill that Szechuan sauce-shaped hole in your heart while you pray for the return of that cult-favorite condiment. But rather than with chicken, we're definitely going to try this on a bacon egg and cheese.
These sauces are both hitting restaurants on October 9th, and they'll only be around for a limited time, so grab 'em while you can!
