You may have seen that McDonald’s is dropping a new McFlurry flavor for spring, but there’s another dessert dropping at the famous fast food restaurant—and it will only be available in Hawaii! That’s right; the fast-food chain confirmed they would be dropping a Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry across the United States on April 12, but also secretly dropped an exclusive dessert for Hawaiian customers: a Guava & Crème Pie.

The treat launched at all Hawaiian McDonald's chains (of which there are 73) on March 28 and features the same handheld size and flaky pie crust as other pies on their menu (like the Strawberry & Crème Pie), but is filled with a vanilla creme filling and guava-flavored jelly.

Compared to most McDonald's restaurants in the US, which are known for their burgers, chicken nuggets, and fries, Hawaiian McDonald's restaurants offer special regional dishes as well as seasonal items exclusive to the state. One regional item is the Spam Breakfast Plates (yes, Spam!). Spam is a staple in Hawaii, especially on breakfast plates, where it is served with eggs and rice at McDonald's. You can only find a Haupia Pie only on the McDonald's menus in Hawaii, which is a fried handheld pie filled with coconut. There is also a dish called a McTeri Deluxe on the Hawaiian menu, which features a normal burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, but the beef patty is smothered with a savory teriyaki sauce.

Hawaiian fans are generally pleased by the pies. On the @McDonaldsHawaii Instagram video showcasing the pies, one fan wrote, "I had 2 today," with a tongue emoji. Another replied, "DON’T GET RID OF IT!!!!"
Some fans did have some critiques for the pie: "This is good but it would be amazing if the Guava Crème Pie was fried. I don't think people come to Mcdonald's to watch their diet. I wanna indulge!" Another fan agreed, writing, "Why is it not fried? The crispy crust would have been better with the guava and cream cheese."
If you are in Hawaii and can get your hands on one of these pies, you will want to act fast. They are only available for six weeks, and it's unclear if we will see them again.
