McDonald’s customers are furious and saying that the fast food chain will ‘regret’ its new drink policy after more and more locations have begun to remove self-serve beverage stations, new online posts reveal.

In case you missed it, the Golden Arches announced last year that it would be removing the beverage stations from restaurants, with a complete removal by 2032.

Customers were devastated by the news, as it would mean the end of the refill era. It would also mean the end of mixing-and-matching your foundation drinks as well as controlling the amount of ice in your soda. These things matter to some people!

McDonald's New Drink Policy Sparks Outrage

By eliminating these stations, the Chicago-based chain says that "individual franchisees will decide whether their restaurant will charge for refills," they told USA Today earlier this year. We're going to guess that franchisees will probably make the decision that best lines their pockets!

As users begin to see their beloved drinks stations disappearing in their local Mickey D's, they've been taking to Reddit to express their frustration.

On one thread, a McDonald's customer slammed the chain as "greedy."

"They raised prices, shrunk serving sizes, skimp on burgers, and now this. Please everyone stop going to McDonald's," they wrote calling for fellow patrons to boycott the chain.

"Seriously, this is such a bad idea," another writes. "This is a huge reason I would choose McDonalds over another option."

Shooting themselves in the foot with this one," added another. Yikes!
