The fast food chain is utilizing AI to help increase speed and order accuracy amid the novel coronavirus and increased demand on the contactless and drive-thru models, CNN Business reports.

In Chicago, the restaurant chain is testing a robot's voice in replacement of the human employees taking orders.
The robotic female voice sounds and works like voice command products Alexa or Siri and is designed to uphold customer service standards at the chain's outposts.

"Humans sometimes forget to greet people. They forget, they make mistakes, they don't hear as well," chief digital customer engagement officer told CNN.
"A machine can actually have a consistent greeting and remain calm under pressure." Interesting!

Food chains have been forced to evolve during Covid-19 pandemic, and McDonald's had previously gotten its drive-thru experience down to 5 minutes and 49 seconds (compared to 6 minutes and 18 seconds in 2019).
