A Fat Loss Coach Shares What To Order At McDonald’s For A Low-Calorie Option That's Perfect For Weight Loss: 'My Go-To'

Navigating fast food choices while aiming for weight loss can be challenging, but McDonald’s offers some surprisingly low-calorie options that can align with your health goals.

Despite its reputation for indulgent meals, McDonald’s has a range of menu items designed to be lower in calories while still satisfying your cravings. By choosing the right options, you can enjoy a quick and convenient meal without compromising your weight loss efforts.

TikTok creator Josh New, an expert fat loss dietitian & trainer, shared his go-to McDonald’s order that is low in calories and high in protein.

Low-calorie, high-protein McDonald’s order

New starts out by saying, “I know the first thing people are thinking is that there’s no way that this is actually healthy, but you guys probably don’t know Kevin Maginnis. He was a 58-year-old guy who lost 60 pounds in 100 days only eating McDonald’s.” He also notes that while he doesn’t claim this is the healthiest approach for weight loss, there are factors to consider that allow you to enjoy your favorite foods while still managing your weight.

He recommends ordering two McDoubles without the buns, with extra lettuce and onions, and a side of Big Mac sauce. “We take out the bun for this because it saves us 300 calories, and if you take out the ketchup and mustard, that’s another 50 calories less as well. And what we do is ask for Big Mac sauce on the side because we control how much we put onto the burger. If we only use half the portion, that’s roughly 70 calories.”

He recommends eating it with your hands like a burger since, essentially, that’s what it is—a healthier, breadless version.

TikTok Reacts

Users who tried similar hacks commented under the post:

“I love a Big Mac salad!! Making choices like this helped me lose 70lbs and going.”

“Double quarter pounder with cheese only mustard no bun – SO GOOD!”

“I LOOOOOOOVE McDonald’s so much I’m definitely going to try this. Also, now I’m craving a frickin Diet Coke from McDonald’s damn it.”

In conclusion, finding a low-calorie, high-protein option at McDonald’s doesn’t have to be a daunting task, even with the fast food giant’s indulgent reputation. While this approach may not be the ultimate solution for everyone, it offers a practical way to enjoy your favorite fast food while managing your weight effectively.
