Royal Biographer Claims Meghan Markle Made Her 'As Ever' Employees Sign NDAs Before Launching Her Jam Products
Now that she is no longer a working royal, moving from the UK with Prince Harry to Monticeto, California, to escape the pressures of the monarchy, the Suits alum has entered her lifestyle guru era.
It all started with her 'comeback' series, With Love, Meghan, which airs on Netflix and shows the former actress putting together some of her favorite at-home recipes and DIY projects alongside a few celebrity guests. Though the show didn't get the most positive feedback, it kick-started the new chapter of her life, and she later launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, which first started selling jams and has branched out into making wine, bookmarks, etc.
Now, popular royal biographer Tom Bowers is claiming that the jams, which were marketed as being made and packaged near Meghan's Monticeto home, were not actually made there. Additionally, employees of the brand were told to sign NDAs to keep things hush.
"I spent a lot of time and a lot of money trying to track down firstly, where the jam was made, and secondly, who produced the jars," he told Express. "She is so careful about controlling the narrative that even the jam makers had to sign non-disclosure agreements [NDAs] to protect the secret of Meghan's jam."
Social Media Users Slam Meghan As A 'Fraud' Upon NDA News
After the report about the As Ever NDAs and the mom-of-two's alleged false marketing came out, it didn't take long for social media users to start slamming her.
The lifestyle brand started receiving backlash from the beginning, with people finding Meghan's decision to put out products like jam, wine, tea, etc., to be odd. Additionally, others felt it was a strange choice after seemingly wanting a more private life. Now, they've seemingly got more reasons to slam the brand, and they certainly did on platforms like Reddit, where she was called a "fraud" and more.
"Everything she does is cloaked in mystery," wrote a user on Reddit.
"Meghan's obsession with secrecy and NDAs is all key to why she can't do certain things, or feels a victim when people point out the mistruths," claimed another.
One angry user commented, "She is such a fraud," as another speculated, "All the need for secrecy will contribute to her downfall."
