They say parents aren’t supposed to have favorites, but it seems like Thomas Markle has clearly picked his side in the legal battle between his eldest daughter Samantha Markle, 57, and his youngest daughter Meghan Markle, 40, as he has reportedly said that he will happily give evidence against the former Suits actress in court. We can’t believe it!

If you’ll recall, Samantha is suing the Duchess of Sussex for defamation, as she claims that Meghan’s explosive sit-down interview with Oprah exactly one year ago negatively affected the sales of her tell-all book about her sister – titled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister Part 1 – as she allegedly falsely spun a rags to royalty narrative. She also claims that the mom-of-two made “false and malicious statements” about her and their father.

The 77-year-old former lighting director spoke about his allegiance to his eldest daughter in an interview with his friend, celebrity photographer Karl Larsen, which was uploaded to Markle’s brand new YouTube channel on Sunday, March 13th. “I am certainly pulling for my oldest daughter Samantha,” he said in the video, in reference to the legal battle, adding that he would “be more than happy to” give evidence against Meghan when the time comes.

Markle said that it would be great to see Meghan in court – even though he will fiercely be defending his other daughter – simply because he hasn’t seen her in almost four years! "I've been trying for almost four years to get to see my daughter and her ginger husband in a courtroom face-to-face," he said. "I haven't seen them face-to-face or my grandchildren, so I'd be thrilled to come to court and talk and defend my oldest daughter." He also added that Meghan "can’t defend the things she said," and is therefore confident that Samantha will win the case.

The Duchess has currently only addressed the lawsuit through her lawyer Michael Kump, who issued a brief statement to TMZ, saying: "This baseless and absurd lawsuit is just a continuation of a pattern of disturbing behavior. We will give it the minimum attention necessary, which is all it deserves."
