It’s no secret that the entire internet has been buzzing since Taylor Swift announced her latest album on her boyfriend’s podcast last week. However, things got so chaotic involving the album news that they nearly missed the fact that Meghan Markle announced a new season of her controversial Netflix show.

Around the same time, the pop icon announced she was releasing her 12th studio album in the fall, and the Duchess of Sussex excitedly revealed her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, was surprisingly putting out a second season, despite the backlash it received. A famous British journalist spoke to an inside source who alleged Meghan was distraught to see that her major series update was overshadowed by the musician’s podcast episode and album title release, claiming she was ready to make a positive “comeback.” Read more about the source’s info below.

Taylor Swift Reveals Her New Album Title The Same Day Meghan Markle Releases The 'With Love, Meghan' Season 2 Trailer

August 12th was a very chaotic day on the internet, as two of the biggest women in today's media headlines had very big announcements. Both women, Taylor and Meghan, have lives that are practically under a microscope, and pop culture enthusiasts were waiting for them to acknowledge very big elephants in the room.

For the Duchess, people were eagerly waiting to hear the status of her Netflix deal and future with the streaming platform, after her lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, did not receive great reviews or ratings from viewers around the world. For the pop star, now that her massive Eras Tour has come to an end, fans and music enthusiasts were waiting to see if she would release some new music or take a long break from the spotlight. Well, they both managed to address those things on the same day.

At midnight on the 12th, it was not only revealed that Taylor would be a guest star on her football star boyfriend, Travis Kelce's, podcast, New Heights, but a teaser clip from the episode showed her holding up the vinyl for her upcoming studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl, which will be released in October.

That same day, the former active royal posted on Instagram the trailer for season 2 of With Love, Meghan, something that many skeptics didn't think would happen.

Meghan Is Reportedly 'Convinced' Taylor Swift Purposefully Stole Her Thunder

Rob Shuter is a well-known British reporter and journalist who frequently uses inside sources that are connected to members of or those associated with the royal family. Recently, he shared a Substack post after interviewing a source who claimed that the As Ever founder is quite bothered by the fact that Taylor's new album announcement stole all of the thunder online, to the point where many didn't even get a chance to see the trailer for her upcoming Netflix season.

The new season of With Love, Meghan, is actually a pretty notable moment, considering many television watchers and royal family fans were convinced it would not be returning, especially after people slammed the show's host for being "inauthentic" behind the camera. A source associated with Meghan allegedly told Shuter that Meghan "thought her trailer would own the news cycle."

"Then Taylor's announcement came in like a wrecking ball," they continued. "Meghan's convinced it wasn't just bad luck."

Another source who spoke to the reporter claimed that not only was the mom-of-two very excited about the new season's trailer drop and content, but that she was looking forward to being back in some people's good graces.

"She saw this as her comeback moment," they said, according to Shuter. "Then Taylor took all the oxygen out of the room."

We'll be curious to see if anything changes regarding Meghan's Netflix ratings and viewership this time around when the second season of the lifestyle and cooking series returns on August 26th. We are certain, however, that there will be a lot of people listening to Taylor's album on October 3rd, given that her website crashed as people tried to simply pre-order it. Sorry, Meghan!
