Meghan Markle‘s Netflix show has been widely mocked and criticized from the very first moment it dropped, which is part of the reason Netflix didn’t renew its $100M deal with her or Prince Harry.
Interestingly though, the streaming giant has offered the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a different (albeit slightly less exciting) deal, and has also renewed With Love, Meghan for a second season. And that season is due to premiere later this month! However, some of that has already been met with controversy…

Meghan Markle Slammed For Inviting Chrissy Teigen Onto ‘With Love, Meghan’
The former Suits actress has already come under fire for the second season of her show, which will land on August 26th, due to one very controversial guest: Chrissy Teigen!
The As Ever founder will reportedly also welcome José Andrés, David Chang, Radhi Devlukia, Heather Dorak, Tan France, Daniel Martin, Samin Nosrat, Jay Shetty, Clare Smyth, and Christina Tosi onto her show for the second season, which is believed to have been shot at the same time as the first. But it’s the Cravings author who is causing the biggest stir online, as she has faced widespread criticism for past bullying behavior.
Chrissy Teigen Bullying Allegations
The mom-of-four has faced bullying allegations for years, including against Courtney Stodden, Sarah Palin, Lindsay Lohan, and Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham. In 2011, Teigen tweeted that it was her "dream" for then-teen Stodden to take a "dirt nap," and she reportedly messaged them to kill themselves.
The Lip Sync Battle co-host later admitted she was "mortified and sad" at who she used to be, calling herself an "insecure, attention seeking troll." She added: "I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel."

"Not a day, not a single moment has passed where I haven't felt the crushing weight of regret for the things I've said in the past," Teigen also wrote on Medium back in 2021. "As I look at them and understand the hurt they caused, I have to stop and wonder: 'How could I have done that?'"
Although Teigen has publicly apologized for her past bullying behavior, critics still don't think she should have been invited onto Meghan's show — especially given Prince Harry and Meghan's strong public stance against online abuse.
In 2024, the Sussexes announced the launch of the Archewell Foundation's 'Parents' Network,' which connects parents whose children have been affected by or lost to cyberbullying. Meghan has also spoken about her own experience, telling the Teenager Therapy podcast in 2020 that she was "the most trolled person in the entire world" the previous year.

Internet Reactions
The internet, as expected, did see the irony and the hypocrisy, and didn't hesitate to make their feelings known. "Meghan Markle hanging out with Chrissy Teigen makes absolute sense to me," quipped one critic on X. "Like birds of a feather, these two chooks stick together," slammed a second, as a third exclaimed: "They are both proven bullies!"
"Meghan is nothing but a walking hypocrite. She is so fake, cunning and a complete narcissist," criticized a fourth. "You can't be an advocate for online bullying and then have a play date with an online bully," echoed a fifth. "How can Meghan Markle associate with Chrissy Teigen, a self-confessed online bully and troll when she purports to support the Parents Network who are campaigning against this very thing?" asked a sixth.
"Meghan Markle and @Netflix in MAJOR PROBLEM WITH CHRISSY TEIGEN and Teigen's #cyber-bullying, causing a child to want to leave her body," noted a seventh. "Meghan Markle and Chrissy Teigen are one and the same. When you see one you see the other," said an eighth, as a ninth agreed: "I mean, one bully supporting another."
"Of course two bullies are friends," said a tenth, while an eleventh said: "These people are vile and boring! I'm ready to cancel my Netflix just because you carry this [expletive.]" A twelfth added: "She is a vile disgusting excuse for a human being. She has no empathy, no talent, no relevancy. Be gone!"
