More bombshell allegations about Meghan Markle‘s hopes and dreams for her future with Prince Harry have dropped, as it’s recently been reported that she wanted to move to Windsor Castle and be “seen as a princess” after the royal wedding in 2018. (Her dreams appear to have gotten bigger over the years, as before meeting Prince Harry, she allegedly wanted to be seen as the next Gwyneth Paltrow, according to former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown’s book, The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil.)

According to new reports, the 41-year-old former Suits actress wanted to live in Windsor Castle after she and Harry tied the knot, and was allegedly unhappy to have been offered Frogmore Cottage, which is located on the grounds of Windsor Castle, instead, as it didn’t fit in with the princess narrative.

"Frogmore Cottage is a stunning estate on the Windsor Castle grounds. I can confirm that Prince Harry and Meghan had requested a space within Windsor Castle but were offered Frogmore Cottage instead," royal expert and To Di For Daily host Kinsey Schofield told  Fox News Digital.

Prince William and Kate Middleton – the new Prince and Princess of Wales – were living in renovated apartments inside Kensington Palace at the time, for what it's worth, which Schofield thought may have made Frogmore Cottage pale in comparison in Meghan's eyes!

"Part of me wonders if Meghan constantly evaluating what Prince William and Catherine had versus what she was offered is what initially instigated the Windsor Castle pursuits. It is clear that Meghan wants to be seen as a princess, and a princess needs a castle," Schofield continued, before going on to muse over why the late Queen Elizabeth II may not have wanted to fulfil her grandson and new granddaughter-in-law's wishes about Windsor Castle.

"Windsor Castle had always been a sacred escape for Queen Elizabeth, and based on the amount of drama that the Sussexes had caused in such a short amount of time, I don't think the queen wanted them right under her nose," Schofield continued.

"Additionally, Prince Harry and Meghan seemed resentful of royal responsibilities and the attention that comes with it. Would they have been able to tolerate the amount of tourists that come through the Windsor Castle grounds regularly or would that kind of attention have proven to be a burden?"

Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently live in Montecito, California with their two children – three-year-old son Archie and one-year-old daughter Lilibet – their official residence when they visit the UK is still Frogmore Cottage. It's believed that they spent the majority of their time at Frogmore Cottage in the events before and after the late Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, and during the official period of mourning before they jetted off back to the US.

Meghan even told The Cut that she still had a lot of items there – including some socks and an old diary – which she discovered when she and her husband visited for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June. "You go back and you open drawers and you’re like, 'Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there? And here’s all my socks from this time?'"
