Melania Trump has seemingly been taking more of a backseat during her husband, Donald Trump’s, second administration; however, after this new publishing incident, her name is back in the headlines.
The internet is buzzing after the esteemed publishing company, HarperCollins UK, made a statement that they published and sold copies of a Prince Andrew biography that contained “unverified claims” about Melania, and revealed they had to pull older versions of the book off shelves. Fans of the First Lady are furious, posting messages that she should sue the publisher, while others think it’s another ‘distraction’ involving the Trumps from all the Epstein files drama. Harper Collins UK Announces They Published A Book On Prince Andrew With ‘Unverified’ Claims About Melania Trump
While there are often so many books on figures in politics or members of the royal family flying around, being distributed by major publishers, one recent book about Prince Andrew, whose name has been buzzing more recently, contained some information about the First Lady that might not have been factual.
Prince Andrew, the third child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, has been in the headlines more lately, as Congress has made attempts to force the Justice Department to release more of its investigative files on Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. In recently released court documents, it was unveiled that Prince Andrew was allegedly involved in some of the abuse that went down between the disgraced financier, involving underage women.
This has prompted numerous authors and biographers to research the royal’s life, including Andrew Lownie, who wrote Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, an unauthorized biography on the prince. The book was published by HarperCollins UK this August, and reportedly contained segments about President Trump and Melania. The bits about Melania ended up prompting a statement from the publisher yesterday, on October 7th.
“We have, in consultation with the author, removed several passages of the book that referenced unverified claims about the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump,” wrote the publisher in a new statement on X. “Copies of the book that include those references are being permanently removed from distribution. HarperCollins UK apologizes to the First Lady.”
The Internet Reacts To The Publisher's Statement On Social Media
Since the book was published, there have been reports that in the book, it was claimed that Jeffrey Epstein was the one who introduced Donald Trump to his Slovenian wife, and more. However, such claims are now actively being removed from the book.
Some internet users believe this could be another situation happening due to threats from the Trump family, although that has not been confirmed. Others are relieved to hear the news that the unverified claims are being pulled from the book, and fans of Melania believe she should take legal action against the publisher and author.
"Sue their pants off!" wrote an X user in response to the statement, which was reposted by Melania Trump's official account.
"Never give up fighting these liars!" added another.
"The First Lady is not playing around this time," posted a user.
We'll be curious to see if, since the publisher is removing the claims, this will be the last we hear about it, or if potential legal action will ensue.
