Some of the biggest and most stylish A-listers graced the 2024 Met Gala red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 6th. This year’s theme is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, with the Met Gala dress code being The Garden of Time, inspired by the J.G. Ballard story of the same name. And it’s safe to say that some celebs took the theme a little more seriously than others.
While Jessica Biel was among the many A-listers who fully embraced the fairytale-inspired, ethereal, garden theme with her floral-embellished ensemble, other celebs went down a different sartorial direction. The High Low with EmRata podcast host is no stranger to baring it all on a red carpet. In fact, she was criticized by none other than Piers Morgan last year for wearing very little at the Met Gala! It doesn't seem like she cares about his opinion though, as she wore *even less* this year!
The mom-of-one flaunted her insane supermodel figure in a sensational sheer dress from the Atelier Versace FW01 Haute Couture collection, sourced from Tab Vintage. The dress did very little to preserve her modesty, and it was very clear that she was wearing absolutely *nothing* underneath. As daring as the front of the dress was, the back was even more provocative thanks to the see-through material. When you've got a body as flawless as EmRata's, it would be rude not to flaunt it. Jennifer Lopez
Never one to be outshone, the 54-year-old "On The Floor" singer made jaws drop when she arrived on the Met Gala red carpet wearing a dazzling custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown.
The truly mesmerizing gown clung to every single one of J-Lo's curves perfectly and showcased her stunning hourglass figure in the best way. Not only did the Marry Me actress show some skin thanks to the see-through fabric of the dress, but it also came with a racy plunging front to add even more sexiness. The "Love Don't Cost a Thing" hitmaker was one of the co-chairs of this year's event, so it makes perfect sense that she wanted to shine on the red carpet!
Janelle Monáe
The "I Like That" hitmaker shut down the Met Gala red carpet in a barely-there Vera Wang Couture gown that will no doubt go down in history.
Interestingly, Janelle's gown was about so much more than exposing her skin. The dress made a statement in another way too, as it was reportedly made with sustainably recycled plastic bottles which were molded into organically shaped flowers.
Rita Ora
Rita Ora also went down the popular 'naked' route for the Met Gala red carpet, which she walked with her husband Taika Waititi.
The "Barricades" singer bared it all in a stunning Tom Ford ensemble styled by Tom Eerebout, which essentially consisted of a sheer, nude, bodysuit and a beaded piece of fabric draped on the top to (barely) cover her front and her back. We should pay particular attention to the beads, as Rita reportedly told Vogue that they are from the first and second century BC, making them "older than anyone on this planet." Wow!
