The former president and first lady were photographed spending time on the famous director’s yacht in Italy, enjoying some time in the sun and wearing summery outfits. The photos of them hanging out with their famous friends didn’t come out long after Barack opened up about his and Michelle’s past marital issues in a recent talk, which caught fans’ attention. Michelle & Barack Obama Are Photographed On Steven Spielberg's Yacht In Italy
This week, the former president and first lady were seen walking onto Spielberg's $250 million yacht in Italy, clearly enjoying their days out of the White House and retirement from actively working in politics. Although Michelle has been very busy working on her famous podcast, and Barack is still continuing to make humanitarian visits and speeches across the country, they had the internet wondering if they were on the outs due to their lack of public appearances together.
However, this yacht day proved that not only are they still going strong, but that they also continue to be a fashionable couple. For their day on the massive boat, the mom-of-two wore a pair of trendy, baggy denim jeans and a matching, long-sleeved denim jacket. When she later took off the jacket, she had on a simple white tank top, and paired the entire look with some silver strappy sandals. Barack was also photographed wearing a dark-colored collared shirt, a classic yacht look.
In photos taken by paparazzi, which can be seen here, the legendary director can be seen embracing them in a warm welcome and pulling Michelle into a big hug while wearing a Hawaiian shirt.
Barack Obama Opens Up About His & Michelle's Marital Issues During A Recent Talk
Around the same time the yacht photos came out, this week, Barack sat down for a live talk and interview with historian David Olusoga at the O2 Arena in London, England. During their discussion, the 64-year-old began opening up about his relationship with his wife of over 30 years, and how they faced their fair share of tough times. After they left the White House, the public began seeing them together in public less and less, and they caused divorce speculation after the IMO podcast host did not attend the inauguration of Donald Trump with her husband earlier this year.
Now that he and Michelle have been shutting down divorce and split rumors over the last few months, during his talk with the historian, he spoke about the work they had to put into their relationship after leaving the White House in 2017.
"I was digging myself out of the hole I found myself with Michelle," he admitted to Olusoga, as reported by The Daily Mail. "Now I'm at about level ground."
Back in April, he shared similar sentiments while talking to Steven Tepper at Hamilton College, stating, "I was in a deep deficit with my wife." He also noted that he had to work to "dig" himself out of their relationship hole and work on doing "fun things" outside of the White House.
Now, it looks like those "fun things" include spending time with one of Hollywood's greatest directors on a megayacht! No matter what, fans of the 44th president and his wife are happy to see them enjoying quality time together.
