Michelle Obama has been revealing a lot on her podcast, IMO, most recently admitting that she doesn’t like being called “Mrs. Obama,” which doesn’t quite help quell the rumors of a divide in her marriage to former president Barack Obama. Keep reading for more information.
Michelle Obama Says She Doesn't Like Being Called 'Mrs. Obama'
On last week's episode of Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang's Las Culturistas podcast, Matt revealed that before they hit "record," Michelle asked him not to call her "Mrs. Obama."
"Earlier I was like, 'Thank you so much, Mrs. Obama,' and you said, 'Michelle," Matt said to begin the podcast.
"We cannot have a real conversation if you're saying, 'Mrs. Obama,'" Michelle replied. "That's too many syllables." Matt then asked if she usually tries to "put down that shield for people."
"I was trying to do that when I was first lady because I just think...I am not that position. I am Michelle. I'm always trying to break down that wall to say, 'We're just all here,' and the first thing to do is like, let's drop that title, that's a little heavy." She then added that people calling her Mrs. Obama "changes the dynamic."

Social Media Reactions
Though Michelle thoughtfully explained that she doesn't like being called "Mrs. Obama" to put less pressure on the people she's having conversations with, users online couldn't help but look just to the fact that she doesn't like being referred to by her husband's last name. "She really hates her husband," one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter."
"Just go ahead and announce the divorce," another user posted.
"Notice how she never denies the divorce rumors," a third said.
"She's not even trying to act like she loves Barack," said another.
