Recently reminiscing on that era of her life, Miley revealed that she used to disguise her drug purchases as vintage clothing when her accountant asked what the large charges on her account were from. Miley's Drug Purchases
Though most remember Miley's rebel era taking place in 2013, beginning when she came on stage at the 2013 VMAs in a nude latex two-piece, that wild time of her life spanned years. During a recent interview on the Every Single Album podcast, Miley admitted that drugs were a "super important part" of her creative process when writing her album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz.
"The drugs were the biggest cost," she explained, "which to hide those from my accountant, we called them vintage clothes. And so she would get these checks. That happens on touring all the time."
Lying To The Accountant
Miley continued, remembering how every time she ran into her accountant, she had to lie to her face. "Every time she say me, she'd be like, 'Where's that like $15,000 original John Lennon T-shirt that you bought?'"
"It's like, 'Oh, it's upstairs. Would you like some?' So I bought a lot of 'vintage clothes' that year. I'm so glad I survived that time in my life," she continued. "I would definitely not encourage anyone else to go this hard, but the fact that I got through it, I'm very glad I got to do it."
