Mindy Kaling, like numerous celebrities in the last decade, has undergone a drastic weight loss transformation. However, not everyone is convinced she did it naturally.
The Office star recently posed and did a feature interview for Bustle magazine, where she opened up about her weight loss more than ever before. In addition to revealing more of what she’s done lifestyle-wise to get healthier and shed approximately 40 pounds, she explained that she was no longer doing it for vanity reasons, but to live longer and better. Despite her stories, there are numerous internet users who are convinced that she couldn’t have made such a drastic transformation without a weight loss medication, and those users are voicing their opinions on various platforms. The Mindy Project creator has accomplished a lot during her career as an actress, writer, author, and more. As she's gotten older, however, she's also decided to pour a lot of energy into her health.
Over the last decade, Mindy has noticeably lost a significant amount of weight, losing a reported 40 pounds after making some lasting lifestyle changes. In the past, she had been somewhat vague about how she did it, seemingly wanting to keep things private. However, in recent interviews, including the one for her Bustle magazine feature, she's ready to talk.
In her interview, which was released a little over two weeks ago, the mom-of-three explained what motivated her to lose weight, and how her perspective switched from vanity and insecurities, to genuinely wanting to be healthier.
"Do I wake up every day being like, 'I look amazing, and I'm so gorgeous?' No, unsurprisingly, but I truly feel so healthy," she told the publication. "When I was younger, I would want to lose weight because of vanity reasons. Now I want to lose weight or have lost weight because I want to stave off things like diabetes. I had it on both sides of my family, and trying to avoid those kinds of things will, I think, help longevity for me, and that's my goal."

In previous interviews, the award-winner explained that consistent, healthy habits and a lack of restriction helped her tremendously in losing weight.
For instance, some of those habits included walking at least one to two miles a day, planning her walks around her children's schedules, trying out "strength-training," and eating a balanced diet with certain treats in "moderation," dropping diets that forced her to completely cut out foods.
Like many celebrities who have lost a significant amount of weight in the last five or so years, Mindy has faced her fair share of Ozempic and GLP-1 medication accusations. Still, despite the information she's given out in interviews, there are a large number of social media users who are convinced she's used one of these medications, going as far as to accuse her of "lying" about it on various platforms.
"She lost it [because] of the Ozempic craze, but [she should] own it instead of denying it," commented an Instagram user.
"She looks great," added another. "We are not disappointed she lost weight. We are disappointed she stopped being open and honest once she did."
"A GLP-1 is not a weight loss journey," suggested another.
