Natalie Portman Makes A Rare Public Appearance With Her French Boyfriend As She Turns Heads In A Cozy Jeans Look

Natalie Portman was spotted on a rare outing with French boyfriend Tanguy Destable, enjoying a romantic stroll through Paris on Wednesday.

The Black Swan actress embraced effortless fall style in an oversized navy sweater layered over a crisp white shirt. Wearing her hair down in a casual side part and opting for a fresh, makeup-free look, the Dior ambassador radiated understated elegance. Destable, a musician, coordinated in a white shirt layered beneath an off-white collared sweater, rolled-up gray trousers, and sneakers, complementing his girlfriend’s relaxed Parisian vibe.

PEOPLE confirmed the Oscar winner’s relationship with Destable back in March, following initial reports from French outlet Voici.

The romance comes after her divorce from ex-husband Benjamin Millepied. The former couple shares two children: 13-year-old son Aleph and 8-year-old daughter Amalia.

The May-December alum finalized her divorce from her ex-husband in early 2024. They share two children, Aleph, 13, and Amalia, 7. Prior to her divorce, there were rumors of a possible split between the two. In a Vanity Fair interview, she addressed the speculations and said, “It’s terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it.”

The couple’s budding romance doesn’t come as a surprise, as insiders have long noted Natalie’s hesitation to date actors.

She clearly has a type—and it seems to be French men. Millepied, her ex, is a French choreographer and dancer who rose to fame for his work on the 2010 thriller Black Swan, in which Natalie starred. He not only choreographed the film but also appeared on screen as a dancer.

“The central problem with Natalie as she gets back on the dating scene is that she has a bit of an irrational fear about dating a fellow actor,” a longtime friend of Natalie said to Life & Style in December 2024. “She barely likes to socialize with other stars, and she’s even admitted publicly how difficult it is maintaining those friendships.”

“She is attracted to high achievers, and that was the big thing that she and Ben had in common, but it turned out he wanted to be a star a lot more than he initially let on, and Natalie is going to be very careful about not getting into a situation like that again,” they said. “She’s made this clear to her friends, but let’s see if Natalie sticks to her own ground rules about this stuff. She’s under pressure to find somebody worthy of her time now that Ben has publicly stepped out with his own new lover.”
