Television viewers know the pain of getting really into a television show that’s addictive and easy to get emotionally invested in, only for it to be canceled for one reason or another. Now, that is happening to numerous NBC viewers, after the network recently announced the cancellation of 3 popular drama series.

Throughout the summer, much to viewers’ dismay, the famous network has been announcing the cancellations of three different drama series, most of which only had about one season on-air. The news doesn’t come long after reports were released that NBC made a $2.5 billion deal with the NBA to stream upcoming basketball games, leading to them having to make room in their fall schedule. Now, hundreds of television watchers and fans are expressing disappointment in the network on social media. Read more about the series that are saying goodbye below.

1. Suits: L.A.

The legal drama series, Suits, had a major resurgence over the last two years after it first aired in 2011. Some chalk it up to the rising popularity of Meghan Markle, who was one of the original cast members, while others believe it may have just had one of those interesting "late bloomer" moments and became extra popular years after it originally aired.

Therefore, it was no surprise when a spin-off series was announced, Suits: L.A., which also stars some of the original principal cast members, like Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter, and Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt. Loyal fans and newcomers began enjoying the spin-off series, which had one season on the air, but now, they're being cut off, as NBC announced it was being canceled in May. Entertainment outlets cited "low viewership" as the main reason, while others are sure the basketball deal had something to do with it. When fans heard the news, they took to social media platforms like X to complain about the loss of the series.

"Why did Suits L.A. get cancelled?" asked an X user. "The last episode was so good."

"Another network has to pick it up," added another. "We need at least 3 seasons." A fan wrote that they were "so sad that NBC cancelled it and no other network has picked it up."

2. The Irrational

The Irrational is a crime‑drama series that premiered with a ten‑episode season in September 2023 and a second season that came out in the fall of 2024. The show is loosely based on Dan Ariely's 2008 book Predictably Irrational, and follows a professor who uses his deep understanding of human psychology to assist law enforcement, governments, and corporations with puzzling cases. The show stars Jesse L. Martin alongside Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, and Arash DeMaxi in its main cast.

Despite the show ending with a storyline that had fans convinced season 3 was on its way, like Suits: L.A., it was also unexpectedly cancelled in early May, and viewers took to social media to complain about the decision.

"I'm starting to really hate NBC," posted an X user. "They keep cancelling shows I like."

"We are so sad and frustrated that Irrational was canceled!" added another. "Actually, I'm angry that a show with so much potential would be cancelled, yet here we go again."

3. Found

Finally, another drama series that hit the chopping block is Found, a crime drama that first premiered in 2023. The series follows a public relations specialist and crisis manager, played by Shonola Hampton, whose mission is to locate missing people overlooked by law enforcement and the media, and she is hiding a jaw-dropping secret. After its successful first season, its second season concluded on May 15th, just days after its cancellation was announced by NBC.

Fans were disheartened by the end of Found, which addressed powerful social justice issues and had many viewers hooked.

"Why do I do this?!" wrote an angry fan on X. "[I] get into a show and then [it's] cancelled! Someone needs to sign Found for another season."

"I cannot believe NBC canceled Found," added another. "Insanely good show."

Which of these three series are you the most surprised about being canceled?
