If you've decided to get a McFlurry from McDonald's, you know that you're in for a delicious treat. Regardless of if you prefer Oreo pieces or M&M's in your McFlurry, everyone knows that the signature dessert is one of the best things on the Mickey D's menu. But, it seems like the McFlurry machines NEVER WORK! We did some research and found out why it's so hard to get a McFlurry nowadays. We also found some pretty alarming things that will make you never want to order one again...

One of the reasons the McFlurry machine is never working is because it hasn't been cleaned properly. Though this may seem like an easy fix, former Mickey D's employee Becca Jansen says that's not an easy job, at all. "Cleaning these machines takes HOURS," she told Seventeen.com. "I mean it, these old machines can take 4 hours to clean. The reason? It has a preprogrammed cycle that it must complete, and if it senses you did something wrong, it will start over."

She also revealed that not every employee has been properly trained on how to clean, or fix, the machines. So, if the machine breaks during a shift where no specialized employees are present, it can't be fixed until they arrive. But most of the time, the machine hasn't even been turned on yet, according to Kelsey Stiegman, another former McDonald's employee.

"They probably say they can't make [a McFlurry] because the machine is cleaning," she revealed. "If they say it's broken, it's probably because they cleaned it already so they're making an excuse that the customer will understand."

Wow, who knew there were so many factors involved in this? If you're lucky enough to have chosen a McDonald's with a "working" McFurry machine, there's still one thing that might stop you from getting the classic frozen treat: its nutrition facts. One regular-sized M&M McFlurry has 630 calories, 22 grams of fat, 77 grams of carbs, and 200 milligrams of sodium. Its Oreo counterpart may only have 510 calories and 17 grams of fat, but it's also got 60 grams of carbs and 280 milligrams of sodium. Yikes!

Indulging in a McDonald's McFlurry can be a sweet treat on its own. But, if you order it with one of its signature burgers, sandwiches, and fries, then you're looking at a lot of calories, fat, and sodium.

Remember to enjoy your McFlurry in moderation to stay within your healthy recommended daily calorie intake. Yeah, this is definitely going to be tough...
