There are plenty of places to grab a cup of coffee in the morning, but none of them compare to McDonald's. The chain offers customers a delightful variety of coffee drinks and never fails to help us get our morning caffeine kick. But, employees say that the coffee from Mickey D's should be avoided at all cost because of how unsanitary it is. Find out why you should never order coffee from McDonald's in the next slide:

All of the McCafé beverages are made using McCafé coffee machines, which an employee revealed are "horrifically dirty" and rarely cleaned by the staff!
"I work for McDonald’s and make sure everyone that matters to me never orders anything that comes out of the McCafé machine, as these are routinely neglected in practically all the McDonalds," the employee said, according to Huffington Post. "All McCafé beverages run through a horrifically dirty machine -- we’re talking 5+ inches of uncleaned, liquid making up its inside parts."

The employee went on to explain that these unsanitary McCafé conditions are due to a lack of training, and that everyone in almost every level of management doesn't know how to properly clean them. "Not only [is the] staff not properly trained in its cleaning and maintenance at almost every McDonald's I’ve had experience with, but the managers in charge of training them don’t know [how to] either," they continued. Yikes!
Not to mention that most of the McCafé drinks are loaded with calories, sugar and sodium! A small McCafé Peppermint Mocha contains 290 calories, 125 milligrams of sodium and 39 grams of sugar. And, you can't forget about the other calories and grams of fat, sugar and sodium that you'll be getting from your meal...

So, maybe Mickey D's isn't the best place to get your morning cup of joe after all... If you're still set on hitting up the Mickey D's drive-thru for coffee, we recommend asking when the McCafé machine was last cleaned to spare yourself from finding some interesting stuff in your coffee!
