You can never go wrong with Wendy's. The fast food chain is home to some pretty delicious menu items and never fails to disappoint. Though there are plenty of tasty foods to choose from, employees want to make sure that you know to avoid THIS certain food from the Wendy's menu. Hint: It's meaty...

If you were looking forward to warming up to some of Wendy's famous chili this fall, you're going to want to find another snuggle buddy. Apparently, it's not made with the freshest ingredients and it has quite the bad reputation among employees.

"I would eat anything at Wendy's, other than the Chili. I never have and never will try it," a Wendy's employee said on Reddit. "Basically, there are warming trays next to the grill that keep the meat warm after cooked for a certain amount of time. After it goes off, the meat is then supposed to be put in a 'warming drawer' next to the grill. That meat is later bagged, frozen, and used later for chili meat. Sometimes up to a week. That is what I find disgusting; the burnt meat being used for the chili." Yikes!

Thankfully, the employee said that there's nothing wrong with the meat they use for the chili; it's just overcooked. They also admitted that it's the least appetizing and photogenic item on the menu. "There's really nothing wrong with the meat, I just think it's an extremely cheap way to do things. If you don't mind your meat being overly done, than it's fine," they continued. "The meat is supposed to be only held for like 5 minutes or something, before putting in the tray for chili meat. However, the timer might get reset like once. But if the meat looked bad, it was never served. The manager's there would wait rather than serving a disgusting looking patty."

Wow, good to know! We've never really been a fan of Wendy's chili, and it looks like we won't be hopping on that bandwagon anytime soon. We'll just stick to our go-to Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger and fries order for now!
