New parents Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have finally announced the name of their three-month old baby girl, and it’s so sweet!
The newest addition to the Chopra Jonas family was born via surrogate at a San Diego hospital on January 15 around 8 p.m., and fans have been anxiously awaiting for the name reveal ever since. That long wait ended this past Wednesday, when TMZ officially reported that the little bundle of joy is named Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. How adorable!
Malti is a Sanskrit name meaning “small flower,” “moonlight,” and “jasmine flower.” We think it’s gorgeous–and fitting for a baby born into such a stunning family.
Above all, the Jonas Brothers member and “Quantico” actress have valued the privacy of their new child over the past few months. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family,” Chopra wrote in an Instagram caption on January 21, shortly after her daughter’s birth.
This couple’s sweet daughter came into the world nearly three years after they tied the knot with multiple ceremonies in December 2018. Five months prior, that July, Jonas had popped the question over dinner by the Mediterranean sea.
Both Jonas, 29, and Chopra, 39, recently revealed never-before-seen photos from the engagement to their Instagram followers in honor of their three-year anniversary. “My everything.. 3 years today. Seems like a blink and a lifetime at the same time. I love you,” Chopra lovingly captioned her post, which featured a photo of the couple holding hands and looking affectionately at one another. Chopra’s gorgeous engagement ring is the star of the show.
The happy couple frequently show their affection for each via Instagram. Most recently, Chopra posted a series of celebratory Easter photos. “Happy Easter from us,” she captioned the post, followed by several affectionate emojis. In the first photo, Chopra, wearing a sunny yellow skirt and top, and Jonas, clad in a brightly patterned short-sleeved shirt, pose in front of a lush floral background, complete with large, festive bunny ears positioned on top of an arch.
Fans and friends alike showed love and support in the comments. Red hearts, bunnies, chicks, and heart eyes galore show that these new parents are well-loved. We’re sure all that love will be passed on to Malti Marie, too.
Now that we know her name, everyone is eager to get a glimpse of the newest member of the family. “Where’s the little bunny though?” one fan asked in the comments. We hope to see her soon–all in due time!
