North West, 12, has been posting TikToks on the account she shares with her mother, Kim Kardashian, for a while now, but it wasn’t until last weekend that she’s been allowed to have her own social media. Three days ago, North debuted her brand new Instagram account with two different posts, and while many fans are celebrating North’s social media presence, others are worried about her growing up too fast and are slamming Kim Kardashian for encouraging it. North West Debuts Her Own Instagram Page

On Saturday, December 20th, North posted for the very first time to her new Instagram page: @NorthWest. Though the account's bio reads, "account managed by parents," the posts are clearly her own. Her first post, aptly captioned: "first post," is a blurry shot of North throwing up two peace signs in a Balenciaga top and a black mini skirt. Her second post, which went up on Sunday, is an up close shot of North covering her face with her hands, showing off her acrylic manicure.

This comes after her father, Kanye West, expressed his extreme opposition to children having social media accounts. In 2022, he actually called out her ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, for letting North even share an account with her. "I am her father and I know y'all don't respect fathers and the idea of family [but] I said I'm not allowing my daughter to be used by TikTok, to be used by Disney. I have a say so," he said in an Instagram post.

Social Media Reactions

Across social media platforms, reactions have been mixed. Some fans welcomed North to Instagram, leaving comments like, "first post is iconic" and "North you're such an icon!"

Others, however, agree with Kanye, and think she's much too young to be on social media. "When did children stop being children?" one person asked. Some even called out Kim for letting her make an account, leaving comments like, "Kim really will do anything for a bag, including exploiting her own children."

"Kim should know better," another person agreed. "Growing up in the public eye you'd think she'd want to protect her children."

"I feel things are only going to go downhill from here," another person posted.
