Why Subway's Oven-Roasted Chicken Sandwich On 9-Grain Wheat Is Ideal For Weight Loss

If healthy weight loss is your ultimate goal, prioritizing protein and fiber is essential, Glockner notes. These nutrients will ultimately keep you fuller for longer— preventing overeating or mindless snacking that could set back your progress.

Regarding this Subway sandwich, Glockner says that it contains vital protein and fiber while also not giving the consumer any unnecessary calories or fats. "The sandwich contains no trans-fat and a limited amount of saturated fat, 1.5 g," she says. She adds that it is "loaded" with two servings of veggies including "cucumbers, green peppers, lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, and spinach."

In addition, as Glockner points out, this meal option is only 270 calories, so "you may want to supplement with a side salad, cup of soup, or some fruit" for even more benefits.

The sandwich itself ultimatley provides 21 g of protein. "It also offers a good amount of fiber, 5 g, due to the veggies," she says. Overall, as she concludes, these veggies (and the sandwich, of course) have more positives than you may have expected.

"It also provides vitamin A, important for skin health, immunity, and vision, and vitamin C, important for the immune system and wound healing," she says. Noted!
