Oprah Winfrey flaunted her super-trim figure in yet another curve-hugging ensemble at the premiere of The Color Purple in Los Angeles on December 6th. And while she was on the red carpet in an apt purple floor-length gown, she couldn’t help but discuss her extremely-impressive 40-lb weight loss, which she suggested was down to a few lifestyle changes and *not* weight loss injections such as Ozempic and Wegovy.

Oprah has actually been very vocal about her disapproval of weight loss drugs over the past few months. Back in September, she sat down with a panel of weight loss experts for Oprah Daily’s The Life You Want Class: The State of Weight, and said: “I’ve got to do this on my own because if I take the drug, that’s the easy way out.”

How Did Oprah Winfrey Lose 40 Lbs?

The 69-year-old talk show host has never been shy when it comes to talking about her weight, which has been a topic of discussion for most of her career.

At the premiere of The Color Purple, which she also executive produced, Oprah touched on her weight loss journey and overall health in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She said her new trim figure was down to quite a few things – and there is no going back! "I intend to keep it that way," Oprah, who has been a Weight Watchers ambassador since 2015, told the outlet, in reference to her new figure.

So how did she achieve her svelte new figure? "It's not one thing, it's everything," she confessed, before explaining that keeping active is an extremely important part of the lifestyle changes she has made since embarking on her weight loss journey. "I was on that treadmill today," she added.

What Has Oprah Previously Said About Exercise?

Oprah has always maintained that exercise plays an important part in her life, and has previously confessed that she forces herself to exercise even though she doesn't actually love it! Back in 2017, she told The Hollywood Reporter that she starts her day by exercising at her home gym, saying: "I have a fantastic Octane elliptical machine that is like a power mover – you can increase the length of your stride and your arm movement."

"I'll do 20 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes walking on the treadmill. I start out at the Level 3 incline setting and then every minute I add to the incline until I get to 12 or 15. And then I do sit-ups," she shared at the time, before confirming she likes to finish up by cooling down with 10 to 20 minutes of walking or sitting meditation.

Three years later, she once again said that she isn't exercise's biggest fan, telling Today in 2020, "Here's the thing about exercise: I still hate it so much. But I still do it." She added: "I think everyone's waiting to love it. You're not going to love it, but you do the thing you need to do to make yourself feel whole and well."
