Although King Charles, 75, is putting on a brave face amid his cancer diagnosis, it’s being reported that preparations are already underway for the next monarch when the time comes – regardless of how near or how far away that may be.
According to The Mirror, Buckingham Palace is currently making arrangements for the next monarch, which will be Prince William as he is first in the line of succession. After Prince William, 41, the next in line to the throne are his children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Prince Harry, 39, is next in line, followed by his own children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Succession Plans Are Reportedly Being Kept A Secret From Prince Harry
Although Prince Harry will no doubt be aware that his older brother is next in line for the throne, The Mirror reported that the finer details of the preparations that are being made for Prince William to take the throne are currently being kept a secret from him.
"King Charles is aware of his state of health," royal author Thomas Quinn reportedly told The Mirror about the monarch's current health status, adding: "Charles is also aware that, as future king, William is at the heart of the succession planning that is taking place right now."
Royal Author Says 'No One Trusts' Prince Harry
"Officials had assumed Charles would remain healthy at least into his mid-eighties before succession planning would need to begin but in fact it has now begun and indicates perhaps that Charles' cancer is more dangerous than we have been led to believe," the Scandals of the Royal Palaces: An Intimate Memoir of Royals Behaving Badly author explained.
"Succession planning is highly secret and no one trusts Harry to be part of it for the simple reason that if he feels in any way slighted or not given what he feels he deserves he will run straight to the media," Quinn continued, in reference to the secrets Prince Harry spilled in his bombshell memoir, Spare, as well as in the various interviews he has given about the royal family.
