Having an iPhone can be super convenient and helpful, that is, until it unexpectedly starts to slow down on you.

Most people know that when you own an iPhone, it comes with a variety of apps already downloaded, ranging from all sorts of uses and functions. However, now that there are so many valuable and speedy apps available to download, many of these preinstalled apps tend to go ignored, and they can even slow down your device. While they might directly slow it down, they can use up a lot of battery life or storage, eventually leading it to run at a slower pace. We’ve listed four preinstalled iPhone apps that you’d be better off deleting. Read more about them below.

1. iMovie

When Apple products started coming with iMovie already installed, it was super exciting. After all, it was pretty neat to be able to create, edit, and film movies on your device, no matter how short or long they were. However, there are now so many advanced and professional movie-making sites and platforms that serious filmmakers use, there's a good chance iMovie goes ignored on people's phones.

iMovie houses a lot of data and takes up a good chunk of storage, so keeping it on your phone along with all your other apps is bound to slow it down.

2. Maps

Maps is a preinstalled Apple app that many people may feel is essential. While some people do use their Maps app to get around, others don't, and a large number of iPhone users typically use some other kind of navigation app that they download. Many people begin to rely on Waze or Google Apps more, therefore, leaving Maps almost useless.

If your phone is beginning to slow down due to not enough storage or too many apps running at once, and, more notably, you use another GPS and navigation app aside from Maps, then it's probably worth deleting.

3. Games

There are a lot of iPhone users on the planet who can't imagine having their smartphone and not playing a game or two each day. You might have a handful of game apps downloaded to your phone, and there's a good chance you're not using the Apple Games app alongside them. The Apple Games app is mostly beneficial for social gaming, comparing your scores and achievements to those of other users or contacts.

However, if you prefer to do that on bigger gaming consoles, then you can ditch games to speed up your device and keep your separate gaming apps running normally.

4. GarageBand

Similar to iMovie, when GarageBand first came out and was accessible to iPhone users, it was fascinating and excited many music lovers. The app contains so many features and pieces of data that make creating music from your phone relatively easy, but if you're not using them, then they simply take up storage and eventually slow down your device.

If you're a music maker, chances are, you're using different software on a different device, like a computer, so it might not be a bad idea to delete it from your phone.
