The Royal Family has been ducking controversy left and right, but reports have emerged that Princess Beatrice has potentially debunked her father, Prince Andrew’s alibi about where he was on the night of an instance relating to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. The prince initially made claims that he was at Pizza Express for a birthday party with his daughter during the time when he was said to have met with an underage woman whom Epstein had trafficked, but Princess Beatrice revealed to a source that she had no recollection of her father taking her to Pizza Express on that night, throwing his credibility into question.
The Prince’s alibi was previously under scrutiny at the beginning of this year when a former royal protection officer began asking questions as to Andrew’s true whereabouts on that night, insinuating that he was not at his own home. However, the Metropolitan Police refused to comment on the issue, and it’s unclear if they will release private logs of the Prince’s whereabouts that evening.
According to a source, Princess Beatrice has said that she has no recollection of the birthday party at Pizza Express that her father claimed he had taken her to. This was his alibi for the night it was alleged he met and had intercourse with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, a 17-year-old at the time who claimed that she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Giuffre, now a 35-year-old mother of three, has become an advocate of justice for sex trafficking victims, and has spoken out about her experiences as a teen, claiming that she slept with Prince Andrew three times while she was a minor. The Prince has adamantly denied these claims, but the facts of the case are still murky.
While it must be difficult for Princess Beatrice to be so entrenched in her father’s scandal, it’s admirable that she admitted her doubts in favor of protecting his reputation. According to the source, Beatrice did not entirely denounce the Pizza Express party, instead admitting that years after the event she couldn’t be sure of the details. Either way, it creates a tricky family dynamic.
