The world has been keeping a close eye on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ever since they officially stepped down from their royal duties and left royal life in the UK for a more 'normal' family life in California.
Since they moved in 2020, people have wondered the same thing for years, which is how they're going to make a living for their family if they're cut off from royal resources. They quickly came out with a tell-all, special interview with Oprah Winfrey, released their Harry & Meghan documentary as part of their $100M deal, and Meghan is now a budding lifestyle guru with her brand, As Ever.
Another notable project was Harry's bombshell memoir, Spare, which detailed his upbringing in the royal family, its flaws, and the things that drove him and his wife out. The book was a smash hit at first, but since then, they haven't published any other books. Sources are now saying it hasn't stopped them from asking their publishing house, Penguin Random House, for more money.
"The executives at Penguin Random House are fielding near weekly calls from Camp Sussex asking for more money," an insider told NewsNation. "They think there are royalties, but there aren't. Penguin overpaid and, with marketing, printing, and other costs, even with millions of copies sold, they will never earn out or get royalties."

The news of the controversial couple asking their publisher for more money in royalties and more doesn't come long after it was revealed that their Netflix deal has dissolved.
Not only did the massive streaming platform announce that it would no longer be partnering with Meghan's lifestyle brand, but they also reportedly chose not to renew the pair's $100M contract to make more original content with them. Therefore, it's becoming more apparent that the mom and dad of two could be scrambling for some extra income.
Despite that, the publishing insiders who spoke to the above publication noted that the publishing house is starting to get "annoyed" with the couple, and has turned down two book ideas the Suits alum presented to them.
"Penguin Random House is done with (the Sussexes)," they added. "It will never publish another book by them. They were (financially) burned."
