Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Reportedly 'Never Wanted' To Be On The Balcony For Platinum Jubilee—This Is So Awkward!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle weren’t banned from standing on the balcony at Buckingham Palace during The Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations – they are actually the ones who said they “never wanted” to stand on it! At least, if we are to believe Finding Freedom co-author Omid Scobie’s latest comments about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!

According to Scobie’s latest Yahoo piece, Prince Harry had already discussed his and Meghan’s absence from the balcony during the Trooping the Color celebration, which will take place at the Mall in London on June 2nd, with The Queen; which was reportedly long before the reports about The Queen’s ‘only senior royals’ rule came out.

"As is often the case, the reality is much less severe when you hear that Prince Harry had already spoken with his grandmother about the possibility of not attending Trooping the Color long before last week's announcements," Scobie wrote.

Scobie then went on to say that although the Sussexes were "very keen" to be part of Her Majesty's Jubilee celebrations, "both sides" felt a balcony appearance would have been "more appropriate for their lives prior to stepping back" as senior royals, which therefore now isn’t the case. He added that Harry and Meghan were still keen on attending the National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral, which as far as we know, they still intend to do.

Harry and Meghan's attendance at The Queen's celebrations might be quite awkward due to the ongoing rift between some members of the family; however, many insiders have insisted that everyone will (hopefully!) put on a united front for the sake of The Queen and her "historic" milestone. "At the end of the day it is about celebrating the historic achievement of a truly remarkable woman. No one would want to disrespect The Queen by continuing hostilities in public," an insider reportedly said, according to The Daily Mail.

"Despite what has happened in recent years and what may be yet to come given that Harry's memoirs have yet to come out, family members will accept The Queen's olive branch in the spirit it was extended," another royal source added. "The body language will be fascinating, mind you."
