This Is Why Royals Are Accusing Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Of 'Overshadowing' The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Even though adorable four-year-old Prince Louis essentially stole the show with his hilarious facial expressions and behavior, many royal insiders reportedly thought that The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was overshadowed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. And it wasn’t because of something they did, but rather, something they *didn’t* do!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex only *officially* attended one event throughout the four-day celebration – i.e., the Service of Thanksgiving for The Queen’s reign on Friday June 3rd at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where they were seemingly demoted to the second row – and their absence seemed to speak volumes! And the fact that they chose to leave the UK by private jet at 1:30pm before the Platinum Jubilee celebrations were officially over is why many people are calling their behavior a “snub” to the 96-year-old monarch. Ouch!

According to reports, the Sussexes left the UK before the final parade in central London even began on Sunday, June 5th – which insiders say is also a snub to the event organizers, some of whom were said to have worked tirelessly for over a year to make it happen – and they arrived back in Los Angeles at 6pm local time. They were reportedly spotted getting into an SUV when their plane touched down, looking tired. "So much for not overshadowing The Queen," a royal insider reportedly told The Daily Beast. "Would it have killed them to wait a few hours?"

However, many reports are suggesting that the Sussexes may have departed early because they didn’t feel as welcome as they had hoped, as they were actually not invited to all of the events that working members of the royal family were invited to. And their position in the second row at St Paul's essentially confirmed that things have changed a lot since Megxit.

Interestingly, reports defending the couple have suggested that their absence at some events could have also had something to do with their daughter Lilibet, who celebrated her first birthday on June 4th, in the middle of the jubilee celebrations; so they may have decided to celebrate it privately as a family. Perhaps even with Her Majesty in attendance, as it was officially confirmed that The Queen *finally* met her great-granddaughter; although we don’t yet know where and when the meeting took place.

Let’s hope that The Queen made the most of seeing her great-grandchildren, as it doesn’t look like she will see Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1 in person for a while; at least according to royal expert Russell Myers! "So, will we see them again? I don't think in the near future," Myers predicted when he appeared on Lorraine on Tuesday, June 7th. "I definitely still think the wounds are very raw, but like you said, all centre on The Queen, so at least they kept their end of the bargain."
