In the agreement that the couple made with Buckingham Palace, they were given until March 31 to maintain their charity support duties before being expected to return to the palace, but it seems like the pair will be trying to get this extended for another year.

Meghan and Harry have been living in Montecito, California with their son Archie, and recently made major business deals with both Netflix and Spotify for a series of programs and even a podcast. However, the original plan was for them to return to their royal duties after the year had passed, but according to The Sun, the pair hope to continue their new lives outside of their traditional role.
While this could be big for the couple, it has reportedly left them on shaky ground with the rest of the royal family, and Prince Harry reportedly plans on having a Zoom meeting to work through the details and hopefully come to an agreement about their new life. However, according to The Mirror via Express, “Harry and Meghan did leave as working members of the family with everyone’s best wishes and it is sincerely hoped they find the happiness that appeared to be lacking in their lives.”
This may seem promising for the future state of Meghan and Harry’s relationship with the rest of his family, but the sources goes on to say, “However, it goes without saying any deals they are making will be scrutinised by the royal household.” Hopefully this doesn’t have any implications on their new podcast!
Although there’s been a notable rift between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the rest of royal family since their departure from their duties early last year, it seems that there’s hope yet for an amicable relationship. While we’ll likely never know what really goes down on this upcoming Zoom meeting, ideally it will secure some steady footing for the young couple amongst their family.
