The highly anticipated day has come, and Prince Harry is officially slated to return to the UK following his dramatic court case and ongoing feud with his family.

The American-based prince has been speaking out a lot about how he felt it was too dangerous for his family to return to the UK after he wasn’t granted the security he requested during his latest court drama. But now, he’s making a visit anyway, and it just so happens to be on the date of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II‘s death. However, it’s not quite clear if he’ll be doing anything with his family to honor her death anniversary, as he’s currently reported to be going to a charity event, which has stirred up some backlash. Prince Harry Will Reportedly Return To The UK On The Anniversary Of Queen Elizabeth's Death

Over the last few years, all we've heard about is how Prince Harry has been subtly at war with his royal relatives, including his father, King Charles III, his brother, Prince William, and more. Although the prince has always had a bit of a reputation for being more of an outsider, everything came tumbling down when he stepped down from his royal duties and moved to America to raise his children alongside his wife, Meghan Markle, whom many people blame for his departure.

Since then, the prince has expressed that he wants to "reconcile" with his family and be able to return to the UK for visits, so he could see his relatives and his children could spend time with their grandfather, especially since his health is presumably beginning to slip due to his recent cancer diagnosis. However, in May, he began to express that he didn't think that would be possible, since he lost his security case appeal, and it was finalized that his royal security needs in the UK would be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Well, the time has come, and the Duke of Sussex is officially returning to his home country since losing the case, and he just so happens to be going back on the date of his grandmother's death anniversary, a significant event in the nation. While some people thought he was going to "reconcile" with his grieving family, it was reported he'd be going to a Well Child charity event, a foundation he's long supported that gives money to sick children.

The Internet Slams Prince Harry's UK Arrival Date As 'Pathetic' On Social Media

Once people found out that the 40-year-old was returning home on that specific date for a charity party instead of being with his family or to honor his late grandmother's passing specifically, they began buzzing on the internet, showing disappointment in him. Some accused him of arriving in the UK on that date as a "PR stunt," figuring that he and his team chose that date as a way to get people's attention, given that many first believed he was going to visit or talk with his estranged father and brother.

On social media platforms like X, users began expressing their anger and upset with the prince, weighing in on the matter through heated posts.

"Using the late Queen to improve Harry's public relations!" wrote an X user. "Pathetic!"

"These children deserve a sponsor with empathy and ethics and morals," wrote a user, referring to Well Child. "Unfortunately, Harry does not. Stubbornly clinging to a man who has so denigrated his family, country, and institutions shows that it's about your agenda, not the welfare of these kids. Pick a better sponsor."

Another user accused Prince Harry of "using kids for cheap PR," as one wrote that he was "dining off the late Queen's death."

"No one wants to see the shameless Prince," wrote another.

We'll be curious to see if anything else besides the charity event is on Prince Harry's docket on his September 8th visit, but for now, it looks like if he doesn't see his family, the internet will not be happy.
