A Royal Author Claims Prince Harry Is 'Separating' Himself From Meghan
The 41-year-old has been in the headlines a lot lately, as he recently made a viral visit to England for a charity event that ended up giving him a reason to visit with his father, the king. It was one of his first times visiting his home country since he lost his latest security case, where a court ruled his official royal security would be given to him on a case-by-case basis.
Although he famously stated in a BBC interview that he and Meghan's family would likely be unable to return to the UK due to safety reasons, while he was there solo on September 10th, he had tea with Charles, which has been the latest step in his plan to reconcile with his family. However, according to royal author Tom Bower, that also means he's creating a bit of distance between himself and his wife due to her career and current reputation.
"When he comes here, he becomes a focus of attention," Bower told GB News. "But of course, he is spare to Meghan or was, in her attempt to become the great television homemaker. But her series, her career, is crashing."
Bower continued, stating, "Very cleverly, Harry has separated himself from Meghan, as she did from him, but she still needs him."
Bower Says Harry & Meghan Are Looking For A New 'Purpose' In Life
In addition to the prince attempting to make things right with members of his family, the As Ever founder seemingly continues to struggle to find the sweet spot in her career, given that the latest season of her controversial Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, isn't going over as well as the first.
In addition to lower ratings, the Duchess of Sussex is still receiving criticism for her presence on the show, with viewers slamming her as inauthentic and more. She is also getting backlash online due to her latest ventures as a lifestyle brand creator, all of which is reportedly hurting her relationship with Harry, given he's trying to get back into his family's good graces.
The author called the pair, "this couple in Montecito, desperately looking for a new purpose in life."
"The fact is, they are both looking for a purpose, and all they can do is damage the monarchy through their activities," he added.
We'll be curious to see if the Duke and Duchess acknowledge these claims at all, but either way, it looks like career-wise, they may be more individuals than a united front.
