Prince Harry may have stepped down as a senior royal in 2020, along with wife Meghan Markle, and started a new life in the U.S., but he has made it quite clear that he is still very attached to the U.K.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, couldn’t hide his pride and excitement when talking about how the Invictus Games will be returning to the U.K. for the first time since its debut in 2014 in just two years, as they will be held in the city of Birmingham in 2027. Keep reading to find out what he said…

Prince Harry Is Excited That The Invictus Games Are Returning To The UK

The Invictus Games founder explained how he and many of the wounded and sick veterans will be feeling about returning to Birmingham in two years in an interview with Us Weekly, saying: "Birmingham for us, is a very, very emotionally connected place."

"A lot of these guys, they woke up in Birmingham after being blown up in Afghanistan," he continued.

Prince Harry went on to praise the Invictus community, adding: "I've learned, evolved, and been shaped by the resilience and brilliance of our Invictus community. Serving them and their families remains one of the greatest privileges of my life."

Internet Reactions

Many people on the internet seemed to hang on to what Prince Harry said about feeling "connected" to the U.K., and couldn't help but share their negative opinions.

Commenting on a Daily Mail article about Prince Harry's Us Weekly interview, one reader said: "The UK is not emotionally connected to Harry." "The problem is we are no longer 'emotionally connected' to him – or his publicity crazy wife," echoed a second. "Emotionally connected! He has a funny way of showing it!" exclaimed a third. "Lost cause, Harry. Time for you to move on like the rest of your family has," thought a fourth.

"Ya that's why he keeps trying to sue the UK government, has called his countrymen 'racists', has bashed his family repeatedly and has betrayed the military. Your country doesn't want you back Harry. No one does," slammed a fifth reader.
