Prince William's Reaction To Kate Middleton's Cancer Diagnosis
Prince William and Kate's former press secretary Jason Knauf candidly spoke about the Prince of Wales' reaction to his wife's diagnosis – which also came at the same time as his father King Charles' own cancer diagnosis – during an interview with 60 Minutes Australia.
"Within a couple of weeks, if you're Prince William, you find out that both your wife and your father have cancer. And that is, I couldn't believe it," Knauf said during the interview, before going on to talk about how the Prince of Wales reacted to the news.
"It was awful, absolutely awful, it's the lowest I've ever seen him," Knauf confessed, before noting how difficult it was for him to read about all of the conspiracy theories about his wife's whereabouts when they hadn't told their children about her diagnosis yet.
"The problem was that all this crazy sort of conspiracy theory stuff kicked off in the background online. Was she really ill?" he continued, adding: "But they didn't want to say yet that she had cancer because they hadn't told the children and they were still working through how to tell the children."
