Several royal insiders have hinted that Prince William, 41, isn’t always the most mature, as it was previously reported that Kate Middleton, 41, sometimes regards him as her fourth child due to his tantrums. Yes, really! Another thing that could make Prince William look somewhat childish is his alleged jealousy, as some royal fans have suspected that he can be quite jealous (although some people simply think it’s called being protective) when other people are talking to his wife.
Some people may not think anything of it, but a video posted on TikTok earlier this year by user @princesscatherine_ has highlighted some moments that could be interpreted as Prince William being protective and “territorial,” to quote the video, at various public engagements. The text inside the video read, “Prince William being territorial to Kate,” and a few examples of him putting his arms on or around her at public engagements followed.
Examples Of Prince William Being 'Territorial'
The first example took place at the Earthshot Prize awards in Boston in December 2022, where Prince William can be seen putting his arm around his wife as they are sitting down. Another example highlighted in the video took place at the Top Gun: Maverick premiere in London back in March 2022, (pictured above.) Kate can be seen talking to none other than Tom Cruise, with the video highlighting a moment where Prince William appears to not be comfortable with his wife's interaction with the Hollywood actor, and then immediately places his arm around her.
While the TikTok account may have thought that Prince William's behavior was territorial, it seems like the majority of viewers didn’t feel the same way. As far as the users who commented on the video are concerned, Prince William is simply protective of his beautiful wife. Although a few did think that his actions were out of jealousy, with one user writing, "He's so cute when he's jealous." Another thought that he needn't be jealous, adding, "He does not need to be jealous come on, he’s being a gentleman and making her feel safe."

Fan Comments
"I don’t like controlling men but I like protective men… he’s being protective," one royal fan wrote. "Looks more out of affection and protection to me! By hand placement," noted another. "That's a real husband full of love and affection for his beautiful wife," thought another, followed by the face with hearts emoji. "I think it’s more protection and love," concurred another. "He loves her and doesn’t want to lose her. Not territorial," said another.
"He’s a gentleman," gushed another royal fan, followed by the crown emoji, as another fan said, "That's his girl," and another added, "He knows that’s his QUEEN." Someone else said, "She's his woman and he wants the world to know that," followed by the crying laughing emoji, as another added, "He loves her so much he can’t keep his hands off her. Their love is real not acted."

Another Example Of Prince William Being 'Protective'
The TikTok account @l0velycatherine also posted its own video featuring another example of Prince William being territorial – or "protective," to quote a few of the fan comments. The video shows the Prince and Princess of Wales attending the Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics NBA game at the TD Garden arena back in November 2022, when they were in Boston for the Earthshot Prize Awards. Prince William can be seen placing his hands on his wife's lower back on several occasions, as well as touching her on the shoulder and almost guiding her as she is walking.
One TikTok user said he was "being protective," while another said that physical touch is "definitely William's love language." Another seemed to think that his actions proved that he was "guiding and protecting what’s his," to which one replied, "as he should."
