Queen Camilla, 76, is reportedly worried about King Charles‘ health following last month’s announcement about his enlarged prostate, which he has now received successful treatment for at the London Clinic.
Although some of the 75-year-old monarch’s public engagements around the time of his corrective procedure were postponed to allow him time to recuperate, multiple sources have revealed that he wanted to return to work as soon as possible, despite his wife’s concerns.
King Charles Reportedly Has No Intention Of 'Slowing Down' Despite Queen Camilla's Wishes
According to The Telegraph, who quoted palace sources in a January 23rd article, King Charles wanted to be "back up and running" following his procedure at the private London hospital, and has no intention of "slowing down" despite Queen Camilla's wishes.
This echoes what an insider reportedly told The Sun, who said: "The Queen has told him he needs to slow down a bit." The insider added: "This sort of procedure is a temporary thing, and then he will be back up and running and very keen to pick up his usual pace."
A Palace Source Says King Charles' 'Work Ethic Is Well Known'
The Sun described King Charles as a real "workaholic" – and we're not surprised, as just last year, he undertook 516 engagements, as well as state visits to France, Germany and Kenya.
Another palace source told the pub: "His work ethic is well known. He's going to be raring to go once he's had a short period of recuperation."
"The man never stops," Prince William, 41, said of his father in a documentary for his 70th birthday. "When we were kids there were bags and bags and bags of work that the office just sent to him," he added at the time.
Prince Harry, 39, also chimed in: "He does need to slow down. This is a man who has dinner ridiculously late at night. And then goes to his desk later that night and will fall asleep on his notes to the point of where he'll wake up with a piece of paper stuck to his face."
