Queen Elizabeth II Was Reportedly Upset With Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Guest List At The Royal Wedding

According to reports, the late Queen was upset about more than just the super-white Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy wedding dress, or how Meghan was allegedly treating palace staff while sampling dishes ahead of the royal wedding. She was also unhappy that Prince Harry and Meghan had excluded some royal relatives, in favor of what she saw as "random" celebrities.

We don't know which celebrities the Queen allegedly raised eyebrows over, but some of the A-listers in attendance included Sir Elton John, George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Carey Mulligan and husband Marcus Mumford, James Blunt, and James Corden, among so many others.

According to RadarOnline, the late Queen reportedly said something to the effect of: "It's my house, and I'm paying for it." Yikes!

The Queen Was 'Annoyed' That 'Celebrities' Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Didn't Know Were Prioritized Over 'Long-Standing Family Members'

Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith reportedly claimed that the Queen was "annoyed" by Prince Harry and Meghan's behavior during wedding planning, especially when it came to who they wanted – and didn't want – on the guest list.

"Harry and Meghan just disinvited or didn't invite a whole group of family and cousins. The children of the Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and of the Gloucesters," Bedell Smith recalled.

She went on to say that the couple "'exed' them out of the guest list, and they added all these other random people who barely even knew the royal family. That was just yet another irritation for the Queen."

The Queen 'Believed Her Kindness Was Being Taken Advantage Of'

Another insider seemingly echoed this, telling the pub: "The Queen felt wounded that long-standing family members, who had always been part of big royal events, were left out while celebrities were invited instead." They added: "It clashed with everything she thought a royal wedding was meant to represent."

And it wasn't just the guest list that seemingly annoyed the Queen. "When Harry and Meghan went straight to the Archbishop of Canterbury, it came across as presumptuous," another source recalled.

They went on: "Normally, the Queen would be consulted first, so it felt like yet another instance of them ignoring tradition and doing things on their own terms. And she couldn't be placated. The Queen believed her kindness was being taken advantage of."
