Reese Witherspoon Divorces Her Husband Of 12 Years
Just about a year ago in March of 2023, Reese Witherspoon filed for divorce from her husband after 12 years together, whom she shares one child with. A couple months later, she shared how the experience has been for her, comparing it to her first divorce from Ryan Phillippe, who she was with for seven years and shares two children with.
"When I was divorced before," she explained, "the tabloid media got to tell people how I was feeling or how I was processing, and it felt very out of control." This time, however, has been different. "To be able to talk to people directly about what's going on in my life and just share it in the way that I share great professional experiences or personal experiences, it feels much more authentic to be able to say things in my own voice and not let somebody else control what's happening."
Of course, there's no way to control the tabloid media, but she understands that: "All I can do is be my most honest, forthright self and be vulnerable. It's a vulnerable time for me."
Reese Witherspoon Is Ready For Love
Now that nearly a year has passed, sources close to Reese have revealed that she's ready to try out love again. "Reese hasn't been out on too many dates, but she's been set up with a few friends of friends," the source explained.
"She's taking things very slowly," they continued. "In an ideal world, she'd love to meet someone special in 2024 and eventually settle down again but for now there's no pressure."
In the meantime, Reese has been taking her children as her date to different events, which has lead to some adorable red carpet moments. She spent Paris Fashion Week with her mini-me daughter, Ava Phillippe, and attended the Golden Globes with her son, Deacon.
