Ricki Lake first broke out into the entertainment industry after originating the role of Tracy Turnblad, the lead character from the musical film Hairspray. While she’s famous for playing a girl who isn’t afraid to flaunt her size, her fans and other musical fans are astonished to see her recent weight loss.
The actress was recently a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Bravo legend Andy Cohen and opened up about getting a facelift not long after losing 30 pounds. She was determined to end the stigma around cosmetic work and called her procedure one of the “best” face lifts she’d ever seen, and the show’s host shared similar sentiments. Read more about her transformation below.
Ricki Lake Reveals She Got A Face Lift On 'Watch What Happens Live'
Ricki is an American actress and former talk show host whose big break was starring as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray in 1988. In the 1990s, she hosted her own show called Ricki Lake, where she discussed contemporary issues with her audience. Now, she's hosting a podcast and has been very outspoken about the work she's done to improve her life and health.
Last week, the 56-year-old was a guest on Andy Cohen's famous talk show WWHL, alongside Cynthia Nixon. At one point, the host began telling Ricki about how good she looked, which was when she decided to get candid about her latest transformation. "I'll reveal this to you; I've told other people, but I've had a lower face and neck lift," she said.
Then, Andy responded by saying, "It looks so good."
"I kind of think it's the best face lift I've ever seen," she continued.
"I love that I can talk about it. I'm fully transparent, and I always have been. But I don't want there to be any stigma. This is something that was bothering me."
That's when she also became vulnerable about wanting to get her face lift procedure after losing weight.

Ricki Has Lost Over 30 Pounds Throughout The Years
In recent years, the former talk show host has talked to media outlets and her social media followers about how she's lost weight. She shared that through diet and exercise, as well as experimenting with ketogenic meals, she was able to lose over 30 pounds naturally. While speaking with Good Morning America, she shut down any Ozempic rumors or speculation regarding her weight loss, and she showed some distaste for taking the medication when it's not necessary.
"The doctor was pushing it for people who were overweight," she said.
"He was saying you weren't going to be successful without it, is what he said to me, really. And I like a challenge. And I like proving people wrong...I wanted to give it a go on my own."
After she lost excess weight, Ricki told Andy that her body transformation was one of the reasons why she decided to go through with getting a face lift, as she had excess skin around her neck.
"I lost a lot of weight and I had this, sort of thing hanging, and I had it fixed," she admitted on WWHL.
"It looks great," Andy responded. When clips of Ricki on the late-night talk show were uploaded to YouTube, internet users took to the comments section to praise her for her transparency and good looks.
"I love the honesty and authenticity," wrote a YouTube user.
"She's always been cool," commented a fan. "Love her."
"No lie, it's the best face lift I've ever seen," added another. "She looks amazing."
