The first trailer for Sony and Apple’s rom-com Fly Me to the Moon has just dropped – and fans can’t quite contain their excitement!
The Greg Berlanti-directed movie is set during the space race in the 1960s, and stars Hollywood icons Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, who play the roles of two NASA workers who are tasked with faking the moon landing. The movie looks like it’s going to be a huge hit from the first trailer alone, with the Black Widow actress and the 21 Jump Street actor’s on-screen chemistry being something fans can’t ignore!
What Is ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ About?
According to Deadline, Scarlett – who is also one of the movie’s producers – plays the role of Kelly Jones, a marketing specialist who is brought in to hype up NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing, before being tasked with staging a fake moon landing. Tatum plays the role of launch director Cole Davis, who is romantically linked with Scarjo’s character in true rom-com style.
Interestingly, the Magic Mike actor wasn’t originally going to be in the movie, as Chris Evans was first intended to play his role. We bet fans are glad about the last-minute switch-up, because everyone is living for Scarlett and Channing’s chemistry!
The movie is out in July, and also stars Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg, Christian Zuber, Bill Barrett, and Woody Harrelson.
