If you’re trying to lose weight but still want to enjoy meals out and good times with friends, finding something on the menu that won’t wreck your diet can be a challenge. One way to stay on track is by ordering breakfast for lunch or dinner — and we’re not talking about French toast or chocolate chip pancakes (bummer, we know).

Eggs are everywhere these days — not that they ever really went away. The health benefits of eating eggs for their nutritional value and weight loss benefits are enjoying more attention than ever before as fears about egg yolks are put to rest and a spotlight is shining upon all of the many pros to eating eggs.

And that leads us back to why ordering a favorite breakfast staple — scrambled eggs — at a restaurant is the best idea ever. These are the benefits you can expect from scrambled eggs.

Scrambled Eggs Contain A Wealth Of Protein

All foods that contain protein are worthy of consideration, but some protein-packed foods are simply better than others — and you can put eggs in that category.

According to SFGate: "Scrambled eggs major nutritional claim to fame is being low in calories while providing plenty of protein. A serving of two large scrambled eggs has about 180 calories and 12 grams of protein. The protein in eggs is also of high quality. It's a 'complete' protein, which means it supplies every type of amino acid that your body can't make on its own. That means it provides all the building materials you need to make the proteins responsible for building muscle, maintaining your immune system, and more."

When you're trying to lose weight, and even when you aren't, eating foods with protein that are low in sugar will provide the energy you need to burn more fat and build more muscle. Protein also fills you up and keeps you satisfied for longer than simple carbs, which means that plate of scrambled eggs will help ensure you don't go looking for a snack in an hour.

Scrambled Eggs Are Rich In Vitamins And Minerals

The benefits of scrambled eggs don't start and end with protein, either. Eggs are a source of iron, vitamin B12, vitamin D, selenium, and vitamin B6. Remember: don't leave the yolk out (that's where a vast majority of minerals can be found). And feel free to add as many veggies as you like — spinach, tomatoes, onions, and peppers will only make your scrambled eggs that much more nutritious and delicious.
