Selena Gomez has been kept preoccupied with Rare Beauty promo work as well as her acting duties in Only Murders in the Building and various film projects, leaving her without any original music to share with her fans in quite some time. Fortunately, the pop star, 31, broke her musical hiatus last week when she announced her new album and unveiled plans to release a song from it soon!
The “Wolves” hitmaker noted that her new song, “Single Soon” will be released on August 25th (mark your calendars!) In addition, she also told her Instagram followers that she is working on her fourth studio album, the long-awaited follow-up to 2020’s Rare.

Selena Gomez Drops Music News: Fans Ecstatic for Upcoming Release
“Single Soon” will serve as the first offering from her anticipated new record. It was produced by benny blanco and Cashmere Cat. As a special treat for fans who have been eagerly awaiting Gomez’s new music, the song is also available for pre-order on a limited edition 7” vinyl.
This new track follows the immense success of her collaboration with Afrobeats star Rema on the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping “Calm Down” remix, certified 3x platinum by RIAA. Gomez announced the news of her new single on Instagram with several BTS snaps of the colorful video set to accompany it.
“Y’all have been asking for new music for a while,” Gomez captioned her August 17th post. “Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer. ‘SINGLE SOON.’ August 25th. Presave it now.”

Naturally, fans were overjoyed with the news, and headed to her comment section to share their thoughts. “Finally!!’ one fan wrote as another added: “The world is not ready yet!” Someone else replied: “My girl is backkkk.” Others were impressed with the sneak peeks of the visual, comparing it to Gomez’s bestie Taylor Swift‘s 2014 record, 1989. “These polaroids give super 1989 vibessss” one commented as another agreed: “It’s giving 1989 and we’re so here for it.”
Gomez’s 2020 record, Rare, spawned successful singles such as “People You Know” and “Lose You To Love Me.” Last year, she released the single “My Mind & Me” to accompany her moving documentary of the same name, and she also collaborated with Coldplay on “Let Somebody Go.”
After years of patient anticipation, fans of Gomez can rejoice knowing that a new album is now in the process of being made!
