Serena Williams Flaunts Her Weight Loss In A New Instagram Reel
The award-winning athlete posted an Instagram reel that had her fans fired up on Tuesday, May 13th. It was a "getting ready" transformation video, as Serena began the reel in grey sweatpants and a casual white tank top, with her hair tied in a ponytail. She also didn't have any makeup on and was wearing a pair of glasses.
After pretending to knock on her phone screen, the video then cuts to footage of her in an "office siren" inspired outfit, with a matching grey long-sleeve collared shirt and a figure-hugging maxi skirt that put her slimmer figure on display. In addition to the chic and flattering outfit, the mom-of-two had her blonde hair down and styled and was all smiles as she struck several poses before walking off-camera.
"I'll be ready in a second - but in the meantime, imma put my thing down, flip it, and reverse it," wrote Serena in her caption.
This is not the first time she's drawn attention to her new body, as Serena's been rather open with her fans about her recent weight loss, which she worked hard to achieve after giving birth to her second daughter, Adira River, in 2023.
More internet users became invested in her health journey when she began posting videos about how she hoped to fit into a denim skirt she had purchased before having her second child. She reached her goal at the end of December 2024, posting an Instagram reel captioned, "The 'Jean Skirt' Finale."
Fans React To Serena's Instagram Reel And 'Confidence' On Social Media
After the 43-year-old posted her video, fans and followers flooded the comment section on Instagram with words of praise for her and her progress. They were pleased to see her looking so healthy and also couldn't help but notice how happy and radiant she seemed, presumably after reaching her weight loss goals.
"How are you getting finer, girl?" asked a commenter.
"Serving confidence!" wrote a fan.
"Enjoying yourself, enjoying your life," observed a follower.
"You worked so hard; you deserve it!"
Other Instagram users were inspired by the ESPY award-winner and the look of her strong, healthy body, writing that she was pushing them to make some lifestyle changes.
"Ok, let me go get in the gym," wrote a follower.
"This is my sign to go to the gym," added another.
We'll be curious to see if the tennis icon decides to share more information on what she's been doing to maintain her slim figure between a busy career and raising two kids. Still, for now, her fans are glad to see her confidence shining through their screens.
