Sharon Osbourne Reveals Ozzfest Is Returning For 2027

The Osbourne family matriarch, 73, revealed that the late "Crazy Train" musician gave his blessing for the event to continue in his memory – and Sharon said she will "absolutely" fulfil his wishes, based on what she shared in a recent interview.

"Yeah, we're gonna do it," the former The Talk host confirmed at the MIDEM 2026 conference in Cannes, France. She revealed that fans can expect it to return in 2027, before explaining why it took such a long break in the first place...

The event originally ran from 1996 through 2018, with Sharon explaining: "The last one we did was 2018. It was just a month before Ozzy got sick, and that was at the Forum in L.A. And there [were] no plans to stop it. We were still gonna do it, but Ozzy couldn't. And Ozzy and I would talk about it, and he'd say, 'Do you think Ozzfest would work without me?' And I'm, like, 'Yeah, it's a brand. It will work without you.' And he said, 'We should do it.'”

The former X Factor judge added that the festival will stay true to its original roots when it returns in 2027, starting at the iconic Villa Park – the same venue where the farewell concert took place – with heavy metal and hard rock acts leading the line-up.

However, she also revealed that she hopes to make it bigger and better than ever by turning it into a touring festival. And in the spirit of expanding the event, she said the line-up could even include artists from additional genres!

Fan Reactions

As expected, fans were obsessed with the idea that the iconic festival would be returning, and took to various social media platforms to share their excitement.

Commenting on a March 7th Instagram video shared by Sharon and their son, Jack Osbourne, one fan said: "That would be so unreal, imagine."

"So hyped for this!" raved a second, followed by three black heart emojis, as a third gushed: "I love that Ozzfest will continue, we need that spirit." "I am so excited," added a fourth.

"This makes me so so so so so happy!" exclaimed a fifth clearly ecstatic fan, as a sixth declared: "Let's go!" "Awesome," a seventh chimed in, as an eighth said: "Bless your beautiful hearts."
