The Sheer Dresses That Stole The Show At The Vanity Fair Afterparty—Kate Beckinsale's Takes The Cake!

There were a few recurring sexy trends at the always-very-highly-anticipated Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty on Sunday, March 27th, including corset dresses, cut-out dresses, and of course everyone’s favorite, dresses with impossibly high slits!

However, it was the sheer dresses that stole the show for us; especially as the majority of them all had the same features – black, sheer, seductive, and totally attention-grabbing! Kristen Stewart may have been the first to whet our appetites for black see-through dresses at the Vanity Fair afterparty, but she certainly wasn’t the last. Check out who else left very little to the imagination on Sunday night’s red carpet…

Anya Taylor-Joy

The Queen’s Gambit star – who is currently sharing the cover of British Vogue‘s April issue with none other than Queen Elizabeth II (what an honor!) – was one of the standout attendees of the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty thanks to her seductive sheer Dior corset dress. The dress featured a sheer off-the-shoulder bustier corseted bodysuit as well as a sheer skirt, which Anya accessorized with dark smokey eyes, bold red lips, and a dramatic black netted fascinator, also by the French fashion house. Just wow!

Kate Beckinsale

Also going down the black and seductive sheer bodysuit dress route was the 48-year-old Jolt actress, who got people talking for so many reasons at the Vanity Fair party. Her super-racy Zuhair Murad Spring 2022 dress with the most intricate hand-beaded tulle skirt we have ever seen had a lot to do with it – especially because of how insane her body looked – but also because of how cozy she reportedly looked with newly-single Jason Momoa. Everyone is talking about how she was spotted with his coat at one point in the evening. *What does this mean?!*

Sydney Sweeney

Black, sheer, and devilishly seductive may have been the order of service for Anya, Kate, and even Kristen Stewart, but Sydney went for something a little different for her take on the sheer theme. The 24-year-old Euphoria actress wore a stunning Miu Miu dress with a figure-hugging slinky satin – and high slit – skirt, and a sheer, embellished top. We’ve never seen anything like it, but we had no doubt that she would feature on our best-dressed list!

Halsey

The 27-year-old “Bad at Love” singer also got the black, sheer, and seductive memo, as she flaunted her figure and made jaws drop with her Dolce and Gabbana masterpiece, which came complete with the most unexpected yet show-stopping gold chain straps. Although her matching black underwear was very clearly and intentionally on show, Halsey managed to add class to the outfit thanks to her slicked back, side parted hairdo, and the flawless makeup.

Chrissy Teigen

Akin to Sydney Sweeney, Chrissy Teigen also went in a totally different direction to the other ladies in terms of her sheer dress, opting for a much more romantic feel with her Georges Hobeika Spring 2022 dress. But it was by no means less wow-worthy, thanks to its sheer embellished cut-out top, and the navel-high slit that showed off the 36-year-old cookbook author’s flawless pins perfectly.

Rihanna

And finally, Rihanna gets an honorable mention, as she also wowed us with her black, sheer ensemble when she attended Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s after party at the Chateau Marmont. Unlike fellow-pregnant star Sophie Turner, who gracefully covered her bump in an elegant red dress, the Fenty founder made her burgeoning bump the star of the show, by dressing it in a stunning sheer custom Valentino gown. This proves that there is more than one way to dress a baby bump. It also proves that Rihanna has changed the pregnancy fashion game forever – it will never be the same again!
