Sheer dresses have been a red carpet trend for a while now—but celebrities are taking things to even riskier heights these days.
How so, you ask? By wearing skimpy lingerie dresses that also happen to be completely see-through, putting their underwear on full display. The trend is so pervasive that we’ve seen it just about everywhere, in the streets, on social media and even on the runway.
The latest star to pull off this risqué trend? No other than Olivia Culpo. The former Miss Universe hit the streets for a night out in Los Angeles this month wearing a “widdo black dress” from Jacquemus. The teensy LBD also happened to be sheer, revealing a peek at Culpo’s bra and high-cut underwear.

Culpo’s BFF Cara Santana had an equally sensual lingerie moment of her own, posing on Instagram in a very sheer boudoir-inspired look with her arms strategically folded around her chest. So scandalous!

Meanwhile, Chantel Jeffries gave the trend a spin back in November as she hit the red carpet at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The DJ wore a black lace robe that completely revealed her lingerie set underneath (which was from VS, of course!).

Fashion fans may have been able to see this trend of the season coming. After all, Gigi Hadid walked in Alberta Ferretti’s spring/summer 2019 show wearing a bedroom-appropriate dress with a black bra and underwear set underneath. Chic!
